International Surf Cup Champions
On Friday April 12/24 The Clippers were in the sunny south to bring home the gold at The One Hockey International Surf Cup.
First up The Shipmen would face SRP Hockey. This one was a total team effort with multiple players having a multi point game in a 7-2 win over their Florida Opponents.
Next Up The Clippers would face The Florida Sharks on Friday evening. This one was a rough hard fought battle ending in a 0-0 draw setting up a possible rematch in the final if both teams continue to win.

On Saturday afternoon The Clippers would face Florida South East Elite. The word elite did not deter the Clippers as they once again played a complete team game and dominated their opponent for a 7-1 win.
On Sunday morning The Boatmen would face A tough Minnesota Thundercats squad but with a win or a tie they would earn a berth into the finals to face the Sharks for The gold medal. The Thundercats would come to play and would jump out to an early 1-0 lead, but The Clippers woke up and went cat hunting and tied the game 1-1 at the end of the first frame. The Clippers would add two more in the second before the Thundercats replied. The Clippers weren't done and wanted to make a statement and added two more to beat the Cat's 5-2 and move on to the gold medal game that afternoon.
The Clippers would once again come to play on Sunday afternoon, but with a bad bounce off an unrepaired dasher on the boards that fooled Clippers netminder Weston Palmer # 92, The Sharks would capitalize and jump out to a 1-0 lead and the up hill battle for gold began. The Clippers were able to get one late in the second to tie it up. The Third would be a struggle with multiple 5 on 3 powerplays for The Sharks. With a penalty filled third frame the Clippers would add another late in the third and hang on for the Gold Medal win and be crowned International Surf Cup Champions.
It was a fitting end to the season for a team that had developed so much but just couldn't clinch a win when needed.

Great job Clippers and lets build on this for next year.

As a wise man once said "once a Clipper always a Clipper"

Go Clippers Go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
